Our Team.
Our team is proudly qualified from NVQ 3 in Childcare all the way up to Qualified Teacher status. Every member has current training in Safeguarding, First Aid, and Food Hygiene. With many years of childcare experience, we create an inclusive environment and look forward to welcoming the children each morning. We also have staff who bring a wealth of experience in supporting children with special educational needs.
We have key workers in each room and they will work closely with the children.
In the 2 - 3 year olds room we work to 1:5 and in 3 - 4 year olds room we work to 1:8.
Key Person
The Key Person is your child's designated individual who is there for both of you daily. They support your child’s learning and development, serve as a space for sharing achievements and concerns, and provide a confidential way to discuss issues. Every child deserves to have someone meaningful in their life, and the key person system recognises this core principle.
The key person approach is a vital principle of the Early Years Foundation Stage and is now a statutory requirement of the framework. It is a reciprocal relationship between a member of staff, an individual child, and their family. It provides the child with a sense of security, enabling them to explore their world and form further relationships.
The role of the Key person is to know their individual child and to support their sense of identity and individuality. They need to be aware of their individual child’s and families’ needs, preferences and development.
The Key person will usually be the person who welcomes the child and carer to the nursery and helps to settle the child into the session. Any information shared with the parents is also communicated mainly through the Key person.
